Here at the Chesnutt Law Firm, we strive to help our clients achieve the legal results that they are seeking and to provide professional legal assistance in a variety of family law and criminal law related cases. One of the main priorities at our family law firm is to ensure that each and every client receives the personal attention that their case deserves. For us, it’s not just about padding our settlement stats or trial record, it’s about making sure that you have someone you can trust and rely on to work for your best interests.
If you are going through a contested or no-fault divorce, are having problems with child support or child custody, or have been contacted by the DCF (Department of Children and Families), then we can provide you with caring and compassionate counseling at our family law firm. It can be difficult to leave your emotions at the door in situations such as these, which is why it can be extremely beneficial to have an experienced family law firm by your side.
If you are facing a criminal charge, then you’ll want to speak with a criminal law attorney as soon as possible. We can help improve the outcome of the trial, whether it’s by proving your innocence, having your case dropped or having your sentence reduced. Having a good criminal law attorney at your side can be the difference between having a misdemeanor or a felony on your record, or between jail time or community service.
Have you been injured due to the negligence or recklessness of another party? Whether you have been the victim of a car or truck accident, medical or medication mistake, slip and fall or other property liability, The Chesnutt Law Firm has the experience and passion you need to fight for the compensation you deserve from the insurance company or business at fault.
The Chesnutt Law Firm is owned by Susan Chesnutt. Susan has a history of dealing with families having worked as a Child Protective Investigator for four years on the Treasure Coast. This has provided her with unique insight into working with families that many family law firms do not have.
Susan also has a wealth of legal experience and expertise as a result of her education. She attended the University of Central Florida, where she earned a Masters Degree in Applied Sociology with a specialization in Domestic Violence. She then went to the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, where she focused on family law.
Once Susan finished law school, she became a prosecutor with the Office of the State Attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit. There, she handled over 30 jury trials in addition to countless non-jury trials over the course of four years, during which she became intimately familiar with the ins and outs of criminal defense.
